5 Tips to Host A Great Fall Party

Thanksgiving dinner decoration.Summer has come and gone, but the celebrations haven’t! As you know, in SoCal, summer weather lasts forever, as we’ve all experienced this month. As we start to see November on the horizon, it’s time to start thinking about fall. Celebrate the ending of our favorite season with a fun party – catered by Mickey’s Deli, of course.

How to Throw a Great Party

Here are 5 tips to host a fun, exciting, and delicious start-of-fall party!

1. Keep Beverages Cool & Crisp

By freezing a large block of ice, rather than using small cubes, it will melt slower. This will keep your punch cool in the heat, and keep it from being watered down!

To make an ice-block, use the following household items:

  • Tupperware
  • Loaf Pan
  • Cake Pan
  • Empty Bottle

To spruce up water, try adding fruits to your ice cubes. Some things we like to add in ice cubes at our parties are:

  • Slices of Limes & Lemons
  • Mixture of strawberries and blueberries
  • Mint
  • Honey
  • Coconut Water

2. Avoid Cooking

Nothing is worse than a sweltering house at a party. Avoid cooking and have your event catered! Local restaurants offer affordable catering that will not only save you time, stress, and money, but will also impress your guests.

Catering can be an easy alternative for each portion of your meal. Keep it easy with fan favorites like sandwiches, salads, and pizza. This will save you the effort and time prepping meals in your home. Send out your husband or family member to retrieve delicious food, and watch the faces of your guests light up.

3. Make Serving Easy & Organized

Setting up proper serving stations, carts, or lines will make for a smooth and effective party. Here are some must haves for allowing your guests to serve themselves easily and quickly:

  • Plenty of utensils
  • Plates at the start of the food table
  • Serving utensils for each dish
  • Napkins
  • Drinks away from the food table
  • Ample seating

4. Pre-scoop Ice Cream

Who doesn’t love ice cream! Give your guests the treat that they crave quicker than ever before by pre-scooping ice cream and storing in the freezer. No more fighting to scoop hard frozen ice cream! This will make for quick and easy serving.

For an even easier storing solution, store your scoops in a muffin tin or in cups. This will make for easier stacking and space saving for other treats.

5. Label Cups

When you provide the tools to have your guests label their cups, it can save you hours of dishes or runs to the store for more plastic cups. There are many ways that you can label cups. If your party calls for plastic cups, set out ample markers to ensure that there is no excuse for an unmarked cup. If you are serving wine, or beverages in glass cups, use pipe cleaners, stickers, or tags for safer labeling.

We always love a good excuse to throw a party. Even though we are sad to see the summer weather go, we are excited to welcome to cool breezes and changing colors of fall. We hope that these 5 tips will help you create a fun, festive, and delicious party to welcome fall.
